Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Jess has been an animal lover for as long as she can remember. In her early 20’s she travelled to the Middle East where she lived for over 4 years. During this period of self-discovery + growth, Jess launched her own blog on which she journaled her own vegan recipes, cruelty free skin care reviews wellness rituals + eco-tourism travels. Jess worked with + learned from a number of brands which shared her values + her blog was featured in Women’s Health Middle East, Cosmopolitan Middle East + CNN.

During her time overseas, Jess fell in love with solo travel + has taken inspiration for her brand from countries + people across the globe. From travelling to Fair Trade Clothing Factories in Ghana + India, + volunteering at an elephant sanctuary in Chang Mai, Jess has experienced first-hand the impact that our choices as consumers have on the livelihood of other people + animals. She became a qualified PADI diver in Abu Dhabi + fell in love with the ocean + travelled to the remote island of Koh Samui to deepen her yoga practice + learn how to teach.

Returning to her home town in 2018, the blogger turned skin care entrepreneur continued to share her love of natural skin care + passion for the environment through Solasta Skin.
